RWGC Board Meeting Notes- January 15, 2026
Members attending: Diane Naegele, Bonnie Kho, Marcy Valley, Bonnie Barr, Tammy Hwang, Sunghae Hong, Mariko Fujinami, Sheelagh O’Connor, Sera Hyun, Susan Han, Debbie Eun, Junko Prior, Susan Tuite, Cath West.
Members not attending: Kim Budelier, Antionette Cornet, Sherry Gilboy, Julie Gong, Faye Lee, Juri Lee-Gentile, Maude MacGillivray, Izumi Ohara, Lily Reeves, Marla Torre.
The meeting was called to order at 10:00 AM
Reports.
President’s Report- Welcome all. Thanks to the Old Board and New Board. Thanks to our hostess: Jane Wortman.
Periodic or monthly EBlasts will be sent out with new and information. The January EBlast will include the announcement of Breakthrough reporting and recognition, plus Mariko will be the contact for reporting chip-ins, plus any news items.
Treasurer- The 2025 closing understanding and proposed the 2026 draft budget were presented. Both budgets were approved.
Handicap- 5th week Game of the Day was discussed: due to schedule conflicts2026 will only have 2 dates that are eligible. It was agreed to use a format that mixes all level of players.
Weekly Tournaments- Members will be required to complete their score cards with the Game of the Day. Diane will add this in the January EBlast.
Major Tournaments- Came in under budget in 2025 For 2026 Food and beverage will not be included for the upcoming Eclectic. The price will be Dropped by $5.00
Membership- The wait list is over 70 people. It was suggested that pre-screening should begin now to try to identify those who will still be interested in the Fall.
Special Events- The next “Sit & Chat" will be March 31.
Social and Programs- The Holiday party came in at $9.00 over budget, excluding the donation to First tee. Diane will look at other venues to see if there are less expensive options.
GAC (Golf Advisory Committee)- The contract to renovate the Rancho buildiing has been awarded to the same group that manages “The Penmar.” Work on the north segment could be completed this year; the south restaurant will air for completion in 2028.
Team- Rancho is fielding A & B Teams this year.
Old Business
LPGA US WOMENS OPEN at Riviera- Volunteers are needed
New Business
Breakthroughs will be reported to Sherry Gilboy. Sheelagh O’Connor will put her info on the home page.
Parking Lot Safety- Susan Tuite reported on an incident of vandalism in the parking lot. Diane will take this to Lance and get direction on what ladies should do. She will include this in the January Eblast.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, April 8, at 9:30 AM.
